Delegates and Alternate Delegates Nominations

Mail-In Ballotting

 To ensure the integrity of the election process, the independent private firm of Elections USA, Inc. has been contracted to conduct the 2020 election services for Delegates and Alternate Delegates. After verification of all nominees by the Local Union and Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Secret Mail Ballots will be mailed by Elections USA, Inc. no later than May 29, 2020, and must be received back (not postmarked, but received) in their P.O. Box by June 19, 2020 to be included in the final tally.

 If you have not received a ballot by June 5, 2020 please notify the Local Union’s Election Chairman immediately at UbcLocal167@Gmail.com , to request a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots can be requested up until 12:00 noon on June 12, 2020 in order for it to be mailed out and received back in the P.O. Box in time to be counted. All requests for replacement ballots must be in writing. No ballots will be faxed, emailed, or sent by express courier.

At the start of the call, SBDigital will begin the call at the designated start time. All inbound callers would land with a voice recording telling them to hang on the line until the event starts. The call will begin with an update from leadership (Keynote speaker) and intro regarding how the nominations will play out. The keynote speaker will instruct the listeners to press 0 to tell the screener who their nomination is. The screener will then begin screening listeners who have pressed 0 and ask for their name, member number, and nomination. . The keynote speaker will announce the nominations aloud to the full call.


Once all nominations are complete the keynote speaker will make closing remarks and SBDigital will end the call.



Moderator – provided by SBDigital

The moderator will facilitate the town hall by welcoming the audience and introducing the keynote speakers.


Keynote Speaker(s) – provided by The Local Union

The keynote speaker(s), once introduced, will give opening remarks and will explain the nominating process. The keynote speaker will open up the nominations and will then answer questions from the callers in the audience. We will leave a few minutes at the end of the call for closing remarks. The client will need to provide the keynote speakers.


Call Screeners – provided by EASRCC

Call Screeners will type in nominations from the audience so the keynote speaker can announce the nomination live on the call. Call screeners will be provided by The Carpenters.


Example Call Flow


4:55pm – SBDigital will launch the telephone town hall.

5:00pm – SBDigital begins the call.

–         Welcomes attendees

–         Introduces keynote speaker(s)

5:05pm – Keynote delivers introductory remarks and thanks attendees for joining. Explains the nominating process. Asks attendees to press 0 to submit a nomination.

5:10pm – Nominations Open (4 minutes per position max)

5:54pm – Keynote delivers closing remarks.

6:00pm – SBDigital will end the call.
